Jackery FridgeGuard Goes Worldwide at IFA Berlin 2026

Jackery FridgeGuard, an ultra-slim backup battery built specifically to protect a refrigerator during a power cut, is moving from a US-only release to worldwide distribution, announced at IFA Berlin 2026 (Messe Berlin, Hall 2.2, Stand 114, 4–8 September). Jackery first launched FridgeGuard in the US in June 2026 through its own site, Amazon and a Costco exclusive; the IFA showing is where the company confirmed the device is now heading to international markets, alongside the rest of its next-generation smart energy line-up including the new FortiShield safety system, the SolarVault 3 home battery and Ark AI EMS energy management system.

What the Jackery FridgeGuard actually does

FridgeGuard is a dedicated uninterruptible power supply (UPS) that sits between a wall outlet and a refrigerator, rather than a general-purpose portable power station. When it detects a power outage or a grid voltage anomaly, it switches the fridge onto battery power in under 10 milliseconds — fast enough that most compressor-based appliances don't register the interruption. Jackery says this matters for two separate reasons: protecting the food inside from spoiling during a prolonged outage, and protecting the fridge's own components, particularly the compressor, from damage caused by dirty power or voltage spikes when grid electricity is restored. That second point is why FridgeGuard also builds in voltage regulation and surge protection as standard, rather than treating the battery as the only job the device does.

The base unit holds 1,024Wh, which Jackery rates for up to 15 hours of typical refrigerator runtime, and it can be paired with an expansion battery to double capacity to 2,048Wh for roughly 30 hours. Jackery's headline design claim is the form factor: at around 2.6 inches thick, FridgeGuard is marketed as the world's slimmest refrigerator backup battery, designed to sit discreetly on top of a fridge, stand upright, lie flat, or be wall-mounted rather than take up floor space like a conventional home battery backup unit. It uses a LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) cell, which Jackery rates for more than 6,000 charge cycles while retaining over 70% capacity — in practice, the company frames that as roughly 16 years of daily use before the battery meaningfully degrades.

Features: app control, Delay Start and surge handling

FridgeGuard pairs with the Jackery app over Wi-Fi for remote monitoring of battery level, input and output power, and charge status.
