Jackery FortiShield Safety System Debuts at IFA Berlin 2026

Jackery is putting safety at the centre of its IFA Berlin 2026 stand (Messe Berlin, Hall 2.2, Stand H2.2-114, 4–8 September), launching what it calls the FortiShield Safety System — a seven-layer protection framework the company says now runs across its whole smart energy line-up, from handheld power banks to whole-home battery systems. It's being shown alongside two named products, the HomePower 1000 Plus V2 portable power station and the Red Cross Explorer 2000 Plus V2, under a new brand line: “Built-in safety, every home guarded.” This is Jackery's fifth consecutive year exhibiting at IFA.

What the FortiShield Safety System actually covers

Jackery's own announcement describes FortiShield as the industry's first comprehensive seven-layer security framework applied consistently across its product tiers, but its materials explicitly name six protection layers rather than itemising a full seven: origin protection at battery-cell level, intelligent BMS (battery management system) monitoring, heat-insulating structural design, fault and emergency protection, extreme environmental resistance, and end-to-end data privacy for app-connected units. A safety framework, not a single product

FortiShield isn't a standalone device — it's positioned as the safety architecture underneath Jackery's broader Full-Spectrum Smart Energy Ecosystem, the company's term for a portfolio that now spans emergency-preparedness gear, whole-home power systems, and dedicated appliance backups such as the FridgeGuard fridge-backup unit shown at the same event. Jackery is leaning on third-party recognition to back the positioning: it cites Frost & Sullivan naming it the “World's No.1 Solar Generator Brand” by both volume and revenue, and separately the “Most Trusted Safety-First Solar Generator Brand.” Both are industry-analyst designations rather than government or regulatory certifications, and Jackery doesn't publish the underlying methodology in the IFA announcement itself.

HomePower 1000 Plus V2 and Red Cross Explorer 2000 Plus V2

The two hardware launches shown under the FortiShield banner sit at different ends of Jackery's range. The HomePower 1000 Plus V2 is pitched as a high-output, compact portable unit with expandable capacity, aimed at handheld and device-charging use rather than whole-home backup. The Red Cross Explorer 2000 Plus V2, developed with the American Red Cross as part of a “Power the Rescuers” partnership, adds two new software features on top of the hardware: a Storm Warning Function that Jackery says monitors severe local weather alerts and automatically tops the battery up to full charge in under 1.8 hours ahead of an anticipated outage, and an Emergency Reserve Mode that lets a household lock in a minimum charge level so day-to-day use can't drain the battery below the threshold kept back for an emergency. Jackery says 10% of proceeds from the Red Cross edition go toward supplying power equipment to first responders. Why this matters for a safety-conscious buyer

Portable power stations and home batteries sit indoors, often near where people sleep, which is exactly why battery safety claims deserve scrutiny rather than being taken at face value. A consolidated framework like FortiShield is, at minimum, a sign that a manufacturer is bundling cell-level, electronic, structural and software safeguards into one story instead of leaving buyers to piece together scattered spec-sheet claims. Whether that translates into a meaningfully safer unit than competitors making similar claims is something only independent testing and real-world track record can confirm over time — it doesn't replace the basic checks we recommend when weighing up a solar battery purchase, such as confirming UN38.3 transport certification and a clear warranty.

What's still unconfirmed for the UK

Jackery's IFA Berlin announcement covers the FortiShield framework, the HomePower 1000 Plus V2 and the Red Cross Explorer 2000 Plus V2 globally, but at the time of writing the company has not published UK-specific pricing, release dates, or confirmed which UK retailers will stock either unit. Given Jackery already sells other HomePower and Explorer models in the UK through its own site and Amazon, a UK launch for these V2 models is plausible, but nothing in the IFA materials confirms pricing or timing for British buyers. Treat this as a European trade-show debut rather than a product available to order in the UK today.
