Enphase IQ Battery 5P 5.0kWh

The Enphase IQ Battery 5P is the AC-coupled storage module designed to integrate with Enphase's IQ microinverter PV systems. Unlike DC-coupled cells that need a matched hybrid inverter, the IQ Battery talks to existing IQ microinverters via Enphase's Envoy gateway — no separate hybrid inverter, no rewiring of the PV array.

Each IQ Battery 5P delivers 5kWh usable capacity at 3.2kVA continuous output (230VAC, UK). Stack multiple units for larger capacity. The 15-year warranty is the longest in the UK residential battery market.

Who it suits

Households with an existing Enphase microinverter PV array — the integration is genuinely plug-and-play. Also strong for shaded or complex roofs where Enphase microinverters are already the right PV choice.

What I'd watch for

Per-kWh cost is the highest in our comparison — pay this premium specifically for Enphase ecosystem integration and the 15-year warranty. Not compatible with non-Enphase PV systems. Continuous output (3.2kVA at UK 230VAC) is lower than competing AIO inverters — for high-draw appliances, may need to limit simultaneous loads.
