What I noticed
Viridian Solar is one of the few UK-based solar panel manufacturers, specialising in in-roof integrated modules. The PV16-445AG-M10 isn't a conventional on-roof panel — it sits flush in the roof structure, replacing tiles, with a 70mm-deep frame designed to integrate weatherproofing and ventilation directly into the building envelope.
At 23.6% module efficiency, it's also one of the highest-efficiency panels in current production — Viridian uses premium N-Type TOPCon cells in a UK-assembled module with 25-year product / 30-year performance warranties.
Who it suits
New-build or full-reroof projects where the roof tile replacement cost is already in the budget, and the homeowner wants the flush integrated appearance instead of panels sitting proud of the tiles. Common spec on architect-designed homes and Passivhaus projects where the visual is part of the brief.
What I'd watch for
The per-panel price is significantly higher than a conventional on-roof module, but the comparison is not like-for-like — you're saving the cost of tiles that would otherwise sit under a conventional rail-mounted array. Installation requires roofer experience with in-roof systems; not every solar installer offers it. At 28.3kg per panel and 70mm deep, the panels need a compatible roof structure.
