What I noticed
The AIKO Neostar 2S is AIKO's flagship residential panel and one of the highest-efficiency mainstream modules you can buy: 23.1% from the second generation of ABC (All Back Contact) cell technology. Moving all electrical contacts to the rear of the cell eliminates the front busbars that shade conventional panels, lifting efficiency a full point above current N-Type TOPCon and around two points above traditional Mono PERC.
The 460W output sits in a standard 1757×1134mm residential frame at 20.6kg, so it slots into the same mounting kit as any other 54-cell panel. The temperature coefficient is also class-leading, which translates to noticeably better output on hot UK summer days when other panels are losing performance.
Who it suits
Homeowners with limited roof space who want maximum watts per square metre, and anyone prioritising the cleanest all-black appearance — the back-contact cell layout removes every visible silver busbar from the front face.
What I'd watch for
AIKO is newer to the UK installer market than Trina or Jinko — confirm your installer has fitted Neostar 2S panels before. The Gen 2 product line is recent enough that long-term real-world degradation data is limited; the 25-year product / 30-year performance warranty covers this on paper.
