What I noticed
Canadian Solar is one of the global tier-1 manufacturers with deep UK distributor coverage. The TOPHiKu6 series is their current-generation residential N-Type TOPCon platform — 445W in the all-black variant at 22.3% module efficiency. At £56 per panel, this is the cheapest current-gen N-Type panel in our comparison by a clear margin.
The N-Type TOPCon cell architecture degrades at roughly 0.40%/year versus 0.55%/year for traditional Mono PERC. Over a 25-year warranty period the compound difference compounds to several percent of additional generation — meaningful real-world output.
Who it suits
Homeowners who want the proven cost-per-watt of a major tier-1 brand with current-generation N-Type cell technology. Particularly suitable for larger arrays where per-panel savings compound: a 14-panel system saves over £600 versus the equivalent premium-brand build.
What I'd watch for
At 24.6kg these are on the heavier side for a 54-cell panel. Factor this into mounting kit selection and roof structure assessment, especially on older properties. The 12-year product warranty is shorter than the 25-year offered by premium brands; the 30-year performance warranty is competitive.
