OUKITEL EP2500: Four-MPPT Balcony Solar Storage at IFA 2026

OUKITEL is showing its EP2500 balcony solar storage system at IFA Berlin 2026 (Booth H3.2-151, Messe Berlin, 4–8 September), alongside the company's OUKI Claw cross-device AI assistant and a run of rugged smartphones and laptops. The EP2500 is a plug-and-play unit that combines an inverter, battery, MPPT solar charge controller and battery management system (BMS) in a single balcony-mounted box — the same category we cover in our guide to plug-in balcony solar in the UK.

Four independent MPPTs is the headline spec

The EP2500 accepts up to 4,000W of solar input split across four independent MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) channels, each rated at 1,000W. Running four separate trackers rather than one shared controller means panels facing different directions, or shaded at different times of day, can each be optimised on their own rather than dragging the whole array down to the weakest string's output. That's an unusual spec for a balcony unit — most rivals on show at IFA this week run a single MPPT or two. OUKITEL rates the inverter at 95% efficiency.

Output and how the capacity scales

Backup (off-grid) output tops out at 2,500W, with grid-tied on-grid output running 800–2,500W depending on setup and local regulations — OUKITEL notes the 800W ceiling specifically for compliance with German balcony-solar rules, the same 800W figure UK households should expect to be the practical inverter-export ceiling regardless of the unit's peak capability. Backup switchover from grid to battery is rated at under 10 milliseconds.

The base EP2500 unit holds 2.048kWh. OUKITEL sells up to seven expansion battery packs that stack onto the main unit, taking total capacity up to 16.384kWh — an 8x range from smallest to largest configuration. That's a wider expansion ceiling than most balcony-class units we track in our home battery storage rankings, most of which either fix their expansion cap much lower or don't offer modular expansion at all.

Battery chemistry and build

Cells are LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate), which OUKITEL rates at 4,000+ charge cycles to 80% remaining capacity. The unit is IP65-rated for outdoor and balcony mounting, runs at a claimed 25–30dB noise level, and OUKITEL lists an operating range of -20°C to 55°C for discharge (0°C to 55°C for charging). It weighs 27.2kg and measures 492 × 475 × 287mm. How it compares to other balcony storage shown at IFA 2026

The EP2500 arrives at IFA in the same week as several other plug-and-play balcony systems, including the BLUETTI Balco 500, FOSSiBOT FBP1200 and Anker SOLIX Solarbank Max. Against that field, the EP2500's standout differentiators are its four independent MPPTs — giving it an edge for households with panels split across multiple angles or partial balcony shading — and its unusually wide 2.048–16.384kWh expansion range, which lets a buyer start small and scale toward whole-home-sized storage without switching systems.

Price and what's still unconfirmed for the UK

OUKITEL lists a European launch price of €799 for the base EP2500 unit on its EU store, alongside bundle pricing with expansion batteries and panels. The product was first unveiled at Intersolar Europe 2026 in June before returning to OUKITEL's IFA Berlin stand this week. OUKITEL's own product pages state that grid-tied operation and certification are currently available only in France, Germany and the Netherlands — the UK is not among the confirmed markets, and no UK price, launch date or UK-specific store listing has been published.
