What I noticed
SolarEdge's HD-Wave architecture pairs a small string inverter with per-panel optimisers — each panel has its own MPPT, so partial shading on one panel doesn't drag down the whole string. The SE3680H is the 3.68kW model sized to fit UK G98 limits without needing the slower G99 grid application.
The Home Wave platform supports adding a SolarEdge battery later via the firmware-unlocked Home Hub mode. Monitoring is industry-leading: per-panel production data through SolarEdge's mySolarEdge web and mobile apps, with installer-side fleet tools.
Who it suits
Roofs with any shading complexity — chimneys, dormers, partial dormers, mixed orientations. Also households where panel-level production data matters for monitoring or troubleshooting.
What I'd watch for
Optimisers add per-panel cost (~£35-50 each) — significant on a 14-panel system. Single-MPPT design — for batteries, may need to upgrade to Home Hub variant. Premium pricing relative to standard string inverters.
