What I noticed
The Growatt MIC series is the smaller-sibling residential inverter line, designed for single-string, single-orientation installs where dual MPPT is unnecessary. The 3000TL-X is the 3kW variant with integrated DC switch.
At under £300, this is the budget-tier pick for typical 2-3 bedroom UK homes with simple roofs — south-facing single orientation, 8-10 panels, no batteries. WiFi monitoring via Growatt's ShinePhone app.
Who it suits
Smaller homes with simple south-facing roof installs and no battery plans. The lowest-friction install for value-tier solar — Growatt is the most-installed inverter brand in the UK.
What I'd watch for
Single MPPT — won't handle split-roof installs (East/West) or mixed-orientation arrays. Solar-only — for batteries use the Growatt MIX or SPH hybrid variants. Monitoring app is functional rather than polished.
