What I noticed
The Ohme ePod is one of the smallest fully-smart EV chargers on the market — designed to install on a wall, fence or post without dominating the space. The 7kW untethered variant takes any standard Type 2 cable. Ohme's killer feature is the depth of tariff integration with Octopus Intelligent Go and other EV-specific time-of-use tariffs.
The built-in SIM means it operates independently of your home WiFi — useful for installs at the boundary of router range or in detached garages. Solar diversion is supported but secondary to the tariff-optimisation focus.
Who it suits
Households on Octopus Intelligent Go, OVO Charge Anytime, or similar EV-specific tariffs — Ohme's automation will save £400-600/year vs flat-rate charging. Also strong for visually-constrained installs where a larger unit is unwelcome.
What I'd watch for
Untethered only — you supply (and lug) the cable. Solar-divert is functional but less precise than Zappi/Hypervolt. The compact form factor means no visual status indicator; status is checked via the Ohme app.
