What I noticed
Growatt is best known for solar inverters but the THOR series brings their manufacturing scale to EV charging. The 07AS-SE-V1 is a 7kW single-phase smart charger with WiFi connectivity, RFID access control, and integration with Growatt's ShinePhone app — the same app used to monitor Growatt PV inverters.
For households that already have a Growatt inverter, the THOR provides single-app monitoring of PV generation and EV charging. Solar-aware charging is supported (ramps charge rate to match PV export) when paired with a Growatt inverter and Smart Meter.
Who it suits
Households with a Growatt PV inverter who want single-app integration. Also the cheapest 7kW smart charger on tradesparky's range, so a strong budget pick for any install where solar-divert is provided by Growatt rather than the charger itself.
What I'd watch for
Solar-divert depends on Growatt inverter + meter — won't work standalone with other PV brands. Lower UK installer familiarity for the EV product than for Growatt inverters. App is functional rather than polished. Worth checking warranty terms carefully — Chinese EV charger warranty support can be variable.
