What I noticed
The Zappi from myenergi is the original solar-diversion EV charger and remains the benchmark for the feature. The 2H series (current generation) integrates with myenergi's broader ecosystem: pair with the Eddi to also divert excess solar to hot water, the Harvi for wireless CT-clamp installs, and the Libbi battery for stack-and-store. The 2H07TB-G is the 7.4kW tethered black variant with a 6.5m cable — the most-installed Zappi configuration in the UK.
The Eco+ mode tracks PV export and only charges when there's at least 1.4kW of surplus available, ramping smoothly without flicking on and off. Fast mode overrides this for full-rate charging at any time. The myenergi app is functional rather than beautiful — but the solar-divert algorithm remains the most accurate in our testing.
Who it suits
The default choice for any solar household that also owns or plans to own an EV. Maximum UK installer familiarity, deepest ecosystem integration with battery storage and hot water diversion, longest track record on the solar-divert algorithm.
What I'd watch for
Larger physical unit than most competitors — confirm wall space. App is dated compared to Hypervolt and Easee. The 2H series replaces the older 2.1; confirm with your installer that you're getting the current 2H, not refurbished older stock.
