Jackery Explorer Plus v2: Modular Power Stations at IFA 2026

Jackery is using IFA Berlin 2026 (4-8 September, Hall 2.2, Stand 114) for the European debut of its Explorer Plus v2 series — a modular line of portable power stations built to be scaled with add-on battery packs rather than replaced as a household's power needs grow. The range spans three models: the Explorer 1000 Plus v2, the Explorer 2000 Plus v2, and the flagship Explorer 3600 Plus. It sits alongside the rest of Jackery's wider next-generation smart energy line-up shown at the same event, including the SolarVault 3 home battery and the EnergyGuard Max storage system, though this article focuses on the portable Explorer Plus v2 range.

What is new: CTB 2.0 and modular expansion

The headline change is architectural. The Explorer 1000 Plus v2 and Explorer 2000 Plus v2 use Jackery's CTB 2.0 (Cell-to-Body) battery architecture, which integrates the battery cells more directly into the unit's structure — part of how Jackery has shrunk the case size without cutting capacity. Both models use ceramic-coated LFP (lithium iron phosphate) cells rated for 6,000+ charge cycles while retaining at least 70% of their original capacity, and both add a 10-millisecond UPS switchover, so connected devices should not lose power during a mains outage. The modular part is the add-on battery packs: rather than buying a bigger unit outright, owners can expand storage on the Explorer 1000 Plus v2 and Explorer 2000 Plus v2 — up to 11kWh and 12kWh respectively — as needs grow, a similar scale-as-you-go approach to the one Jackery is taking with its stationary SolarVault 3 home battery.

Explorer 1000 Plus v2

The smallest model has a 1,024Wh capacity, expandable up to 11kWh with additional battery packs, and delivers up to 1,800W of continuous power output (3,600W surge). Jackery says it is roughly 44% smaller and 26% lighter than the original Explorer 1000 Plus, at 10.8kg. Charging figures given for the unit include a full charge via AC in a little over an hour, with fast solar or hybrid charging available for shorter emergency top-ups.

Explorer 2000 Plus v2

The mid-tier model steps up to 2,048Wh of capacity, expandable to 12kWh, with 2,400W of continuous output (4,800W surge) at 18.8kg. Jackery describes it as around 60% smaller and 33% lighter than the v1 Explorer 2000 Plus — a bigger reduction than the 1000 Plus v2, reflecting how much bulkier the previous-generation 2kWh-class unit was. Like the 1000 Plus v2, it carries the CTB 2.0 architecture, the 6,000+ cycle ceramic-coated LFP cells and the 10ms UPS switchover.

Explorer 3600 Plus: the flagship

The Explorer 3600 Plus sits above the two CTB 2.0 models as the largest unit in the range, aimed at whole-home backup use rather than portable or camping use. Jackery's own US-market listing for the equivalent model puts capacity at roughly 3,584Wh with 3,600W of continuous output and expansion up to 21kWh with add-on packs; Jackery has not yet published a separate European spec sheet for the 3600 Plus, so treat the exact European capacity, output and expansion ceiling as still to be confirmed rather than final.

How it compares with other IFA 2026 power stations

Jackery is not the only portable-power brand pushing modular, expandable designs at IFA 2026: EcoFlow showed its RIVER Gen4 and PowerRock 4000 at the same event, and BLUETTI brought the balcony-focused Balco 500. What is still unconfirmed

Jackery has not yet published UK pricing for the Explorer Plus v2 series, and pre-orders for the UK and Europe are not slated to open until 14 October 2026, with a pre-launch campaign running from 4 September to 13 October offering an accessory discount and a free solar charger. The 44%/26% and 60%/33% size and weight figures, the CTB 2.0 architecture claims, and the 12kWh expansion ceiling are all company-stated specifications from Jackery's own IFA materials rather than independently tested figures, and the Explorer 3600 Plus's European spec sheet has not been published at the time of writing. Until UK pricing, availability and independent reviews land, treat this as a specification and pre-order announcement rather than a product you can buy in the UK today.
