What I noticed
The Renusol Console+ is the go-to flat-roof mounting system for residential DIY installs. It uses a ballasted design — heavy concrete paving slabs sit in the base trays, holding the array down without drilling through the roof membrane. This is critical for flat roofs where puncturing the waterproofing is a major risk.
Who it suits
Homes or outbuildings with flat roofs. Works with felt, asphalt, fibreglass (GRP), and EPDM rubber membranes. The 10° tilt angle is optimised for UK latitudes — enough to shed rainwater and allow self-cleaning while keeping wind load manageable.
Watch for
Requires a structural assessment of the flat roof — ballast adds significant weight (ballast slabs not included in the kit price). Check your roof's load-bearing capacity before ordering. Not suitable for roofs with existing penetrations that need to be avoided.
