Puredrive is a UK-headquartered storage brand specialising in AC-coupled systems — designed to retrofit onto existing solar PV installations without needing to change the PV inverter. The PureStorage II 10kWh combines battery cells with an AC-coupled inverter in a single floor-standing or wall-mount enclosure.

The AC-coupled architecture means the system installs in parallel to your existing solar setup, monitoring the consumption meter and switching between charging from PV excess, discharging during high consumption, and idle. No changes to the existing PV inverter needed — useful when adding storage years after the original solar install.

Who it suits

Households with existing solar PV who want to add storage without rewiring the PV system. Particularly strong for installs where the original PV inverter is a string inverter without battery support (most pre-2022 installs).
