What I noticed
The EO Mini Pro 3 is the smallest 7.4kW home charger available in the UK — roughly the size of a thick hardback book. On a cramped garage wall or a narrow external surface, the compact form factor is genuinely useful. It is untethered (no cable attached), OCPP-compatible, and priced at £599 installed — the lowest price for a smart charger with meaningful app integration in this comparison.
EO Charging is a British company with a solid reputation for reliability. The app handles scheduled charging and energy monitoring. There is no solar divert capability — this is a deliberate design for households whose primary use case is cheap overnight charging on tariffs like Octopus Go, not solar integration.
Who it suits
Households without solar panels who want a capable, reliable home charger at the lowest installed price. Also a good choice for rental properties or second-home installs where you want OCPP flexibility without paying for unused features. The IP55 rating (slightly better than the IP54 standard on most rivals) is appropriate for exposed wall positions.
What I'd watch for
No solar divert is the main gap — if you have panels or expect to install them, the Zappi or Hypervolt Home 3 are better investments at modestly higher cost. The 3-year warranty is standard. Being untethered means you need to carry a Type 2 cable in the car — a minor inconvenience some drivers find annoying.
