What I noticed
Aiko Solar's ABC (All Back Contact) technology moves all electrical contacts to the rear of the cell, eliminating the front metal busbars that shade cells in conventional panels. The result is the highest efficiency available in a mainstream residential module: up to 23.6%, versus 22.0–22.5% for TOPCon and 20–21% for PERC. At 465W in a standard residential frame size, this panel produces meaningfully more power per square metre than anything else in this comparison.
The -0.26%/°C temperature coefficient is also the best of any non-HJT panel here — ABC cells lose less output on hot summer days than conventional TOPCon. The 30-year performance warranty is class-leading. At 20.6kg, it's also one of the lightest panels in this comparison despite the higher output, which eases installation on older roof structures.
Who it suits
Homeowners with limited roof space where maximum watts per square metre justifies a premium price. If you can only fit 8–10 panels on a constrained south-facing section, the output difference from ABC technology is worth the additional cost per panel. Also well suited to south-facing roofs where the all-black aesthetics are a priority alongside performance.
What I'd watch for
Aiko is less established in the UK market than Longi or Trina — confirm your installer has fitted these panels before. The 15-year product warranty is shorter than the 25-year product warranties available from other brands at similar price points; the 30-year performance warranty compensates but covers different risks. Price per panel is highest here — run the output-over-lifetime numbers against Longi or Trina before committing.
