What I noticed
The SolarEdge SE3680H is the most popular residential inverter in the UK market, partly because its optimizer-per-panel architecture handles shading better than conventional string inverters. If any portion of your roof gets shade during the day, SolarEdge is worth the premium.
Who it suits
Roof arrays up to about 4.6kWp (at standard DC:AC ratio). Works with SolarEdge StorEdge batteries if you want to add storage later. The 12-year warranty is industry-leading and transferable if you sell your home.
Watch for
Requires SolarEdge power optimizers on each panel — the inverter alone won't work without them. Factor in ~£40/panel for optimizers when calculating total cost. The monitoring portal is genuinely excellent for tracking generation.
