What MCS certification means: the Microgeneration Certification Scheme is the industry quality standard for small-scale renewable energy installations in the UK. An MCS-certified installer has been audited against workmanship and customer-service standards, and all their work comes with a 10-year workmanship warranty backed by the scheme. MCS certification is also a requirement for your system to qualify for the Smart Export Guarantee — the rate your energy supplier pays for surplus electricity you export to the grid.

What happens after you submit: we store your details securely and use them only to make installer introductions. We won’t share your contact details with anyone until matching launches in your area, and we’ll introduce you to a maximum of three vetted installers — not a dozen calls from aggregators. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing me@sepehr.co.uk.

What a good quote looks like: get at least four quotes before committing. Ask each installer to break out panel cost, inverter cost, battery cost (if applicable), and scaffolding separately — a single combined “system price” makes it impossible to compare like-for-like. Verify their MCS certificate number on the MCS website before they visit your property.
